Programming for At-Risk Children

Empowerment funds have provided programming at three sites for children who have identified risk factors.

Positive Parenting at Trinity serves a high population of children of teen mothers who are trying to complete their high school education. Empowerment and United Way subsidize the costs not covered by other funding sources.

Armstrong Head Start and Grace Head Start have extended hours due to collaboration between Bettendorf School District, Empowerment and Iowa East Central TRAIN. More than 50% of children enrolled at those sites have not had a structured early childhood experience and this will help meet that need.
