Parents as Teachers

Parents as Teachers (PAT) is an early childhood family education and support program that begins prenatally or at birth and extends to age 5. The program offers parents regularly scheduled personal visits, group meetings, developmental, hearing and vision screening of children; and linkage of families with other child activities that encourage language, intellectual, motor, and social-emotional growth. The teachers are the parents, supported by professional educators who suggest way parents can effectively teach and nurture their young children. A strong research-based curriculum is used to provide age-appropriate information to parents and help them lay a solid foundation for school and life success.
